Created and applied syllabi for sailing programs for children from ages 4-13. Coached and traveled with Optimist Race Team and led classes for both beginning and intermediate sailing. Managed a junior staff of 7-10 instructors while maintaining the highest standards of safety on and off the water. Held a similar position from 2008-2009 at Kennebunk River Club.
Prepared for the upcoming reunions; worked with design programs and archived images to create presentations and compilations; for Reunion 2010 and 2011, worked as one of two students who were directly in touch with housing plans at all times; worked as a student ambassador with Alumni and persons connected to Bowdoin. Also corresponded with businesses across the country to organize college specific events, worked with alumni on several different forms of social media, designed and edited images and documents, kept correspondence with several notable alumni, and developed a stronger student-alumni connection for the College through discussions and various projects.
During the summer of 2010, worked at the US office of the Guatemalan non-profit, Safe Passage. Responsible for organization of the programs first international multi-location 5K. This position required graphic design, web page design, use of fundraising software, contacting local race organizers on a weekly basis, corresponding with vendors, publicizing, creating templates and specific documents in various electronic formats, translating documents in both English and Spanish, a high level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Selected to be the premier student assistant for the George Mitchell Oral History Project at the Bowdoin College Library. Duties include conducting extensive research on Senator George Mitchell, scanning and indexing government documents for the Oral History Project, editing documents, as well as listening and editing interviews (1-2 hours) and their respective transcripts. http://library.bowdoin.edu/arch/mitchell/oralhist/
